Oculus Rift May Get Frostbite Support
Oculus Rift VR 3D helmet is still in development phase, but some games already support it. Furthermore, there is a big list of games that will get OR support and that list is getting bigger. While some games (like Doom 3: BFG) got a VR treatment from the developers themselves, others (Crysis, HL2, ...) get their first taste of VR via modders' hands. Now The Verge has managed to confirm that EA are also looking into supporting Oculus Rift natively in their future games.
Frank Vitz, head of Frostbite team at EA DICE is quite interested in the VR helmet working with their engine.
"I am really eager to see how the Oculus Rift works with Frostbite."
"There are multiple titles in the works that would be awesome with the Rift."
If OR support gets integrated into Frostbite itself, then the amount of games playable with OR will increase greatly. There is no guarantee at this point, but hopefully there will be a bright road ahead for good 3D in games.
