Though we may still be some time away from the release of Legacy of the Void, the final chapter of the Starcraft 2 trilogy, Blizzard has released information about a series of missions that seek to bridge the story between Heart of the Swarm, and the final title. Called "Whispers of Oblivion," it spans three missions as you take on the role of Zeratul, the revered Dark Templar ally of the remaining Protoss forces. In it, you investigate legends and attempt to stave off the impending doom of all races, you know, typical Starcraft fare.

Currently, the only way that you can access the Whispers of Oblivion prologue is to pre-purchase Legacy of the Void. While the missions will be made available to everyone at a later date, there is no such date nailed down currently. Furthermore, even if you gain access to the multiplayer beta of Legacy of the Void, you still cannot play the Whispers of Oblivion missions. Those interested can pre-purchase Legacy of the Void now, and witness the conclusion to Blizzard's 17-year sci-fi saga.
