Nvidia Shield is Shielding Your Money

When Nvidia's mobile PC handheld was announced earlier this year for the price of $349, people were stunned and gave negative criticism for it being too expensive. Now it has been revealed that a week before it is to ship to retailers, Nividia has decided to decrease the price down to a more reasonable $299. Despite the decrease in price, it still is a little bit more expensive than other alternatives such as the 3DS and PS Vita, but they don't have the capabilities to stream PC content that the shield will allow customers.

Will this mean that it will be more successful? Only time will tell if there is enough keen interest in this little gadget. It will launch next week in the US and Canada on June 27th. Currently the only confirmed retailers that will be stocking it are Gamestop, Newegg, Micro Center and Canada Computers. It is expected for the Shield to be released later in the year to other parts of the globe.

I don't get how something like this can be more expensive than a PS4

It is just a fun handheld that is mostly designed to use from your bed as far as I can tell lol

It looks really stupid to me quite honestly.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking too. And that's the problem. It's a gadget, an expensive gadget, that a lot of other gadgets I already have can already do

Not much to be honest, just streaming from a connected PC, I don't really see the point, but that's just my opinion.

I'm still in half minds about this. I mean, what does it do really? What does it do that I can't already get elsewhere?
