Those were the words of Crystal Dynamics Global Brand Director Karl Stewart. Others have already commented a great deal on how bizarre this excuse is, given the amount of exposure the game has already received. I mean, apart from what little I've covered in news articles for Pixel Judge, I haven't seen a single thing about the game since the very first teaser way back when. That was enough to have a firm grasp on what the game will be about and how it will play.Nevermind the fact that we could have, for the sake of pre-release gameplay familiarity, been given a mutli-player demo instead. Or something as innocuous as the demo for the original Tomb Raider (remember that?) which had absolutely no story elements, whilst remaining faithful to the final game.

Frankly, it strikes me as a rather lame publicity stunt. An attempt to drum up a little forced mystery at the last minute or maybe its simply the offspring of lazy developers. Perhaps you would care join me in disambiguating this great conspiracy in the comments below. But beware, this news article will self destruct in ten...nine...eight...seven...chicken sandwich...five...four...
