No Preload For Metal Gear Solid 5 On PC But It Might Be Better
Metal Gear Solid community manager Robert Allen Peeler has said, via Twitter that there won't be a preload for Metal Gear Solid 5 on PC but the consoles will still be able to download the game days early like many other big Steam releases. Put down your pitchforks, your nerd rage rolled a 1 – there's still a small ray of hope. In later tweets, Robert Allen Peeler clarified that downloads will begin for PC users at 00:00 (midnight) on September 1st News Zealand time. If this is correct and Steam doesn't do local time releases for the game then UK users will be able to begin their downloads on August 31st at 13:00.
Those with fast connections could be digging into Phantom Pain by tea-time the day before it's “released” so in a way, what we're getting is far better than a preload. If you fancy losing your faith in humanity (or at least the Twitter community) you can see the tweets here or you can go say thanks to Mr Peeler for this potentially excellent news. We've reached out to him for clarification so stay tuned for more.
