No More Unlicensed Pony Fights
No matter what you feel about the My Little Pony fandom (while no fan of the show, I'm tired of all the people complaining about them), it's quite strange too see one brightly coloured pony beat up another with a psy-book. Or just see Pinkie Pie fight.
But fret no more! Indie/non-profit (wait, there's a difference?) developer Mane6 got a Cease and Desist order (a wussier version of a Space Marine Cease and Repent order) from Hasbro and now have to abandon their fighting game My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic. Mane6 has suspended all the related material in all of their media channels while at the same time trying to come to some sort of understand with Hasbro.
On one hand, you might say "boo, corporations". On the other hand, MLP is originally meant for kids. And you know what they have? Parents who don't understand anything about videogames or the internet.
Soon you'd have a Hot Coffee/Mass Effect sex sized scandal on Fox about MLP promoting bullying and violence or something. They don't have the intellectual capacity, or, you know, journalistic integrity to get all the facts - and neither do alarmist parents.
Meanwhile, Lauren Faust, the artist behind MLP, has suggested to draw entirely new characters for the fighting game. Classy lady that one.
What's your reaction to his whole Ponygate shebang?
