Somehow, the release of a single faction in Total War: Rome II is enough to bring me as much excitement as the announcement of the release of a whole new game. This latest one that has arrived seems to be a sensible one compared to its peers, touting "Tolerance, justice, profit" as its motto. Yes, the Parthians are made up of a confederation of tribes, containing Persian, Hellenistic and local cultures, as well as Greek and Iranian Gods, not to mention the practise of Zoroastrianism. Furthermore, they seem to even have an emancipation mindset due to their aforementioned Zoroastrianism, something extremely uncommon back in the day.

Gameplay wise, it seems that they will be focused heavily on horseback warfare, sporting the good ol' nomadic horse archers that decimated armies back in the original game, as well as the awe-inspiring heavy armoured cavalry. Open ground is their forte, which makes sense considering the terrain in which they would be doing battle. Anyway, more information can be found at the Total War wiki site here.
