New Metal Gear Solid Announced
For those who can't get enough of Metal Gear Solid, have no fear, for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has just been announced.
Between Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, both titles are currently firm leaders in the running for worst game names of the decade.
The unveiling was a real time demo, shown off behind closed doors. Thankfully, plenty of details got out on Twitter. @markmacd had two particularly interesting tweets:
"Demo of "Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes", started w cutscene (all realtime), went into gameplay, open world, night, raining, base. AMAZING,"
"Snake crawled @ avoiding searchlights, killed guard, rode jeep, called in heli for evac. Sounds like MG, but the scale & atmosphere... Wow."
I've never seen a man so excited about rain. So, details are obviously sketchy at this point, but hey, a new Metal Gear Solid huh? Who'd have thought it, I'm sure this is massive shock to everyone in the gaming industry.
My extreme levels of sarcasm aside, the demo was also running on a PC at "current gen specs" according to Brad Douglas on Twitter. Thank god for that, for a minute there I thought it would be running on old gen PC specs. We also know that it is running on the brand new Fox Engine, which has left those who have seen it impressed.
We're still waiting on an official announcement, maybe some screens and a trailer, but for now just let the thought of another entry in this ever present franchise gently rock you to sleep at night.
