As we already knew, the new Mass Effect and Dragon Age 3 games are going to use the Frostbite engine, what we did not know yet was that they will actually be using the Frostbite 3 engine and not Frostbite 2. In a recent Tweet by BioWare developers, they have confirmed that both the new Mass Effect game and Dragon Age 3 will be using Frostbite 3 as their engine.

This is definitely great news for gamers! Battlefield 4 is the main game whose team at DICE has been developing the Frostbite 3 engine, but as an EA company DICE have shared their engine with other EA developers such as BioWare. As a result, Dragon Age 3 and Mass Effect will both use the Frostbite 3 engine. This means that the new Command & Conquer title will also likely be using the Frostbite 3 engine as well. All in all - great graphics for all!
