Neverwinter to Enter Open Beta Soon

By Mokman12-04-2013

Attention all PC gaming RPG fans. I doubt I'll need to remind you what exactly the Neverwinter series is, or what it represents in the PC RPG community. Still, to those who have somehow forgotten the magic of Neverwinter Nights, or Neverwinter Nights 2, know that it is easily one of the greatest of RPGs, in-depth and intricately crafted. An isometric real-time/pause-based tactical RPG, it was innovative to say the least, setting many precedents that are being followed even today. Thus, the announcement of the Neverwinter MMORPG was one that sent ripples through the RPG gaming community. Now, the chance has finally come for all to dive once again into the world of Neverwinter, in the form of the Open Beta starting April 30th, 2013.

"Millions of players" will be given "unrestricted access to the game world" come that day, and it seems that they will not be disappointed, as evidenced from the assurances coming from Cryptic Studios. As to quote: "The direct response and support from the Neverwinter community during our Closed Beta Weekends have pushed us to make Neverwinter the best free-to-play MMORPG anyone has yet seen," said Cryptic Studios Executive Producer and COO, Craig Zinkievich. "On April 30, we go into Open Beta. That's when the world we've labored for years to build comes to life -- that's when every gamer can login and play what we've worked so hard to create. We could not be more excited." Neverwinter the MMORPG recently won MMORPG.com's Most Anticipated Award at PAX East 2013, clinching it amongst other awards and much critical acclaim. Best news of all? According to them, "there will be no character wipes or restricted access after the start of Open Beta."

In order to "Thank Committed Founders", a further Beta Weekend has also been added, beginning 12:00 p.m. (PDT) on Friday, April 12. They will be the first consumers to experience the professions system recently added to Neverwinter. Players can still become Founders through Neverwinter's Founder's Pack Program. Benefits include exclusive access to Beta Weekend 4, permanent in-game items that are unique to Founders, early access to Open Beta, and VIP perks. They may do so here.
