Multiplayer DLC Inbound

I thoroughly enjoyed Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. It brought with it very little new to the franchise, the multiplayer was insultingly mundane, and some of the frustrating gameplay problems of AC3 were still present in Black Flag - but overall it's a worthy purchase that I heartily recommend to all action adventurers and would-be pirates.
With there having been a season pass available for purchase for quite a while - and knowing Ubisoft's past history - it should come as no surprise that, now that the game is out, two billion DLCs will follow.
The first of which has just been released, and is called Blackbeard's Wrath. Yay, I loved that character! Can't wait to get more singleplayer story-content with that guy as the main focus! Oh wait, it's nothing like that. It's a multiplayer DLC. Yes, the very same multiplayer that I bashed to no end in my review.
Okay, let's not start waving our fists too early. So what does this new multiplayer DLC bring to the table? Three new characters. Blackbeard, The Orchid and The Jaguar. Each with their own unique backstory, and absolutely nothing else. Because you see, you don't have classes in Black Flag's multiplayer. Each character is just a skin variation, with the exact same stats and abilities. Yeah, some wield a pistol while others use a hook or sword, but in the end that doesn't matter. You still do the same; Walk up to your target and click left mouse button once. Instant kill. Fun!
"Blackbeard, wielding a sword and a short temper is not to be trifled with. His reputation as a feared pirate is justly received and his preferred kill moves include using his tremendous strength to throw his targets off balance and then quickly finishing them with one clean strike.
"The Orchid, a Templar-friendly deadly assassin grew up in China, serving as a military advisor in the Quing dynasty where she honed her murderous skills. She executes opponents swiftly and gracefully with her katana, an extension of her mind and body.
"The Jaguar, Cuali, an Aztec warrior from Mexico, took to the sea to fight against the Spanish conquest of Central America. A fighter, he survived the destruction of his community and joined forces with a growing contingency of native Templars who sought renewed peace and order. Driven by a mystical force, The Jaguar fights like his namesake, striking swiftly and quietly with his preferred weapon, a discreet axe."
And guess what, that's all the pack contains. Three new player skins. No new maps or modes, no new singleplayer content. Nothing. Just three skins. The pack is out now and is, frankly, quite pointless.
