Metro: Last FOV

A patch has been rolled out across Steam, to address the complaints regarding Metro: Last Light's Field of View setting. At a previously unalterable setting of 50, some found it to be unusually narrow. Personally, it didn't bother me at all, but for those it did, your request has been granted. Via the config file, you can now tweak away the vertical value to your hearts content. If you want to complain about this being a config only fix, why are you a PC gamer? That's just the way we roll baby! It's also a valid point, given the inconvenience of having to exit and restart the game until you have the perfect setting. But the key thing is the luxury is now...a luxury.
There have been some other, smaller, AMD specific tweaks which you can find in a Steam forum post here. I've taken the time to play through some sections of the game again, to test it out. My performance remained more or less consistent with my first time, though I did see modest improvement in framerate at some of the more system intensive areas. So all in all, a small, but respectable fix to some of the niggly issues that many dev studios would ignore post launch.

People sure make a big fuss about FOV nowadays :P

You know what, I'm going to set it to 90 in the config now, and take some video footage just for the lolz

In the config it is. So, take note kids, setting the config file to 90 is not smart. Would be hilarious though >D

Ah, then I understand. But FOV isn't measured by the width, but the degree. It's the field of view, after all.

Unless you're talking degrees. In that case you could be right. The config setting is 50 and, after checking, a 90 degree view is 59

Apparently not. At least not for height

This can't be right, Bobfish. 50? The default FOV for Last Light is 70.
