Medal of Honor is MIA not KIA

Poor Medal of Honor. Between some bad recent releases from the series and the frequent changes of developer, it hadn't being too well these days. A few weeks back we reported that EA was giving up the franchise, putting it on indefinite hiatus. But now EA have clarified a few things, and Medal of Honor's not as dead as you think.

Comments by EA Chief Creative Director Rich Hilleman to Rock Paper Shotgun, suggest that the focus is being put on Battlefield, after Medal of Honor's poor showing with Warfighter, "for the next couple years, we can just have one great thing in that space. So we’re choosing for it to be Battlefield".

Hilleman also acknowledged the poor critical and player reception to Warfighter, blaming leadership,

"...we didn’t have the quality of leadership we needed to make [Medal of Honor] great. We just have to get the leadership aligned". He went on to say that "there’s always somebody at EA who loves a property. That property will come back when it’s time is right and there’s someone to carry it"

So basically, Medal of Honor is dead until EA can reorganise, and the time is right once again in a few years for another entry in the series. There's a lot they could do to give Medal of Honor an edge, if they take their time is could turn into a great thing, like the Medal games of yore. But until then, Medal of Honor is asleep, catching a breather for when it comes back and tries to win our hearts again.
