Master of Orion Reboot
Wargaming, the guys behind World of Tanks, World of Warships and World of Warplanes decided to reboot Master of Orion. I’d love to tell you more, but there is little to say. The game has no released details just yet, we have no idea how it will pan out and whether it will take the F2P route or not. Neither do we have an official full name (if there is one), a date or a preliminary development plan.
What we do know is that Wargaming used the money we threw at them in their F2P titles to snatch up the rights previously belonging to Atari in 2013. The license saw little use after 2003 when Master of Orion 3 failed to impress. The original of 1993 however is enshrined in PC gaming history. That said, NGD Studios, an Argentinian developer, has been given the task to recreate Master of Orion. NGD isn’t the most well-known developer but they have previously released few games and has been around since 2002. They aren’t exactly new to the business, but then again, reboots are essentially a money printing machine and it takes a dedicated and professional working developer and publisher to not misuse such a reality. Lets hope for the best then.

Hmm I can't argue that I find any of Wargames recent history fills me with confidence but...
They use to make TB strategy games good one and not F2P, so maybe maybe they will go back to their roots for this one.
There is a case for Wargame continueing with its current route micro transaction filled trash, - it makes them money, a lot of money.
But MoO is one case where this tactic will NOT work, because it attracts a different kind of player.
I hope they realise this.
