Master of Orion - First Look
NGD and WG Labs have released a first look at their upcoming reboot of the 4X classic; Master of Orion.
In this video we see some of the races and win conditions introduced by some “News Robots”. Personally I glad that the robots are included, it’s a great way to inject some comedy, but I find their voices more than a little irritating.
At the two minute mark in the video we see some combat between the Sakkra and some Pirates, however the Devs have stressed that this is only “Auto resolve” combat, and we’ve yet to see the manually controlled version.
Again for me, this is a relief, because combat is an important part of the game as far as I’m concerned. But on the down side, we still don’t know exactly what combat will look like yet.
I’ll say this much for NGD, they may be playing things close to the chest but they are interacting with their community and they seem passionate about this game.
