Legal Advice for Indie Devs
When it comes to indie game development, sometimes making the game itself is only part of the story. Legal ground is very slippery when it comes to the homages or trademarks, and there are also some outright legal scams using scare tactics. Non-profit group New Media Rights tries to give free advice for those cases, and has been doing LAGD (Legal Assistance for Game Developers) series on YouTube explaining different cases as well as interviews with industry insiders. They are planning to continue such work and this year they turned from individual donations to crowd funding via indiegogo. They are asking for $16 000 before December 21th to help them finance their legal advice and further episodes of LAGD.
