Learning to Survive
Recently Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick remarked that 'zombies sell', the folks at EKO Studios must have yelled out a collective "WA-HOO!" at that prospect because their upcoming game 'How To Survive' tackles this most ubiquitous of themes. Not much information has been shared by the developers or by publisher 505 Games, other than this vague press blurb:
"In order to survive, you must fulfill the most basic of needs – seeking out food, water and shelter, as well as crafting dozens of tools and weapons from fishing rods to Molotov cocktails. Players can also team up with other survivors in local and online multiplayer story and challenge modes to take on a growing array of the infected."
Numerous reports suggest that the game will most likely be a real-time third-person action game with some elements of survival horror, but that doesn't really help make matters from being any less vague. The developers released a few shots of the game and after giving them a thorough look-see my (usually reliable) skills of deduction tell me that the game will most likely play like any modern action RPG click-a-thons, a la 'Diablo'. The game is set for release this autumn as a downloadable title for current-gen consoles and for PC through Valve's omnipresent Steam.
