Landmark Specs for Everquest?

Everquest is an old MMO...like REALLY old. You think World of Warcraft is getting a bit ragged around the edges? Meet WoW's slightly insane father. SOE has done a lot to keep fans of this legendary series happy, and with Everquest Next: Landmarks, they plan to make some big changes to an already massive game.

What might surprise you is the strangely high system requirements for the new expansion. Everquest is by no means a BAD looking game, but that does not necessarily make it a good look game either. What's more however, is the internet connection required, also being surprisingly high.

Thanks to the wonderful people down at VG247 we have the requirements for you to gaze upon:

Minimum System Requirements

OS – Windows 7 64 bit

Processor – Intel i5 Dual Core or higher / AMD Phenom X3 or higher

Memory – 4GB RAM

Hard Drive – 20GB Free

Video Memory – 1,024 MB RAM

Video Card – nVidia GeForce GTX 275 series or higher / AMD HD 4890 or higher

Sound Card – DirectX compatible

Internet – Broadband (10Mbit/sec or higher)

Recommended System Requirements

OS – Windows 7 64 bit

Processor – Intel i5 Quad Core or higher / AMD Phenom II X6 or higher

Memory – 8GB RAM

Hard Drive – 20GB Free

Video Memory – 1,024 MB RAM

Video Card – nVidia GeForce GTX 560 series or higher / AMD HD 6870 or higher

Sound Card – DirectX compatible

Internet – Broadband (10Mbit/sec or higher)

Now I am sure we all have riggs which can easily run something like this, but for the odd person who doesnt quite have a moderately modern PC, they are going to really struggle if they want to continue/start playing the game. The most limiting factor however is the internet connection. Being someone who lives in a somewhat rural area of England, it is rare to find people who have connections that come close to that. Heck we only just got COMING SOON adverts for fibre optic broadband!

For those of you who can play this, you can feast your eyes on the latest developer diary, and for those who can't, well, you can watch it anyway and sulk about for a while.
