Into The Stars

With a plot line somewhere between FTL and Battlestar Galactica, Into The Stars places you in the captain's chair of a spaceship, with command of its crew, resources, and some of the last surviving humans.

The gameplay looks to be very management oriented, with lots of balancing resources and making hard decisions. You will have to explore and find resources and you will be able to improve your ship and crew along the way as you search for a new home. You will encounter other races and have the opportunity to trade or do battle with them too. But all the time, an implacable foe will be approaching with the intention of wiping you out.

Here are some more details in the devs own words:

Finding a new home for humanity won’t be easy. Maintain your ship and lead your crew, mine resources and discover mysterious relics, trade or battle with alien ships all while staying one step ahead of a pursuing force.

Game Features:

Complete Control: Take command of an inexperienced crew and guide them through a solar system packed with mystery and danger.

Explore a Massive Solar System: You have the freedom to set your course for salvation, but no approach is free of peril. Each of the 90 zones in this sector present unique opportunities along with challenges, and only you can find the path to success.

Challenging volley-based Combat: Sometimes trade discussions break down and often the other party is out for nothing but blood. That's why your ship is equipped with a number of weapon systems that can speak for the human race in a language everyone can understand. Choose your target points and battle stations wisely to survive numerous alien encounters.

Music by Jack Wall: Driven by an original score from the legendary composer behind the music for Mass Effect, Call of Duty and Lost Planet."

Following a successful Kickstarter Campaign, Into The Stars will be arriving on Steam Early Access on the 9th of July. Fugitive Games are the brains behind this game and Iceberg Interactive are the publishers.

The gameplay from the video seemed to be a cross between Starpoint Gemini and FTL two games I love, so I’ll be keeping a close eye on this one. but however it develops stay tuned to Pixel Judge for more updates.
