Slated for release on March 11th 2016 for PS4, X1, and of course PC, HITMAN has taken a turn and announced it will be released in monthly episodes, claiming a truly episodic AAA game experience with a major live component. Players will perform contract hits on powerful, high-profile targets in exotic locations around the world.

“We decided to take the full leap and publish HITMAN as a truly episodic game experience,” said Hannes Seifern, Head of Studio at Io-Interactive. “Part of that decision is for that little bit of extra time to ensure every location we release is at the quality level fitting for a HITMAN game. But the main driving reason is that this will expand and evolve over time and establish a foundation for the future - this is the first game in a storyline which will continue and expand with future HITMAN games.”

Along with the typical $60 price tag, we’ll see a new pricing format for the episodic if you’d rather pay per episode. The first installation will be $15 along with episodes after costing $10 for a total of $65. For those who decide after the first episode that they’d like to buy the full game, you’ll be able to upgrade to the full game for $50. The prologue will start off in Paris on release and move on to Italy in April and Morocco in May, followed by Thailand, US, and concluding in Japan. If you’re particular to exclusive content, PS4 players will be getting “The Sarajevo Six” 6 special contracts, one for each location. In this exclusive, Agent 47 will hunt down former members of a paramilitary unit “CICADA” in an independent side-story. If you’re keen on HITMAN, and just can’t wait, we’ll be seeing a beta period starting February 12th for PS4, and February 19th for PC. If you’ve pre-ordered either the intro pack or the full game you get automatic access to the beta.
