Heroes Wanted. LOTS of Heroes
We've previously written about Scribblenauts' recent legal kerfuffle but today we bring you a much more positive story. The developers of previous Scribblenaut games have meticulously drawn nearly everything one can imagine and placed it as summonable objects in their games. Now they're turning their hand to the world(s) of superheroes. The newest title in the series, Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure, includes over 2,000 of DC's heroes, villains and other such assorted odd-balls.
Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell have closely examined every super power, every series and every universe in DC's past. They've done this for the game's core mechanic of summoning whatever players draw on a magical, in-game pad of paper. Long time series possessor of the aforementioned notepad, Maxwell, will make his return in this game alongside his twin sister, Lily.
Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure will include over 33 different Batmen as well as a whopping 130 members of the Green Lantern Corps. There will be quite a selection of heroes on offer.
This new game is centred on completing the appropriately themed "Heroic Feats". These are essentially puzzles that are procedurally generated from an in-game list of DC locations, characters and potential tasks. Players can also make their own characters but only DC's heroes have their backstory available on the Batcomputer.
Those of you eager to start scribbling will be pleased to hear that Scribblenauts Unmasked will be available on PC, WiiU and 3DS this autumn.
