This one wrongfully slipped under our radar, at first glance it appeared like it would be typical Ninja Theory hack and slash but instead what we're seeing in the videos above and below are the first looks at a game based on Celtic myth, a setting that's barely explored in gaming, as well as having a strong female protagonist with an eye to the world and narrative being experienced from her point of view, with perceptions twisted to her own damaged mind.

On the hack and slash front, the game won't be without combat but Ninja Theory have opted for a more tactical approach to fighting, with one on one fights being the predominant form of conflict where button mashing is out and observation, consideration and finally reaction take centre stage.

Even if the evil presence's name is a cliché (“The Darkness”) and sounds like the uh... evil presence from Alan Wake it's still well worth keeping an eye on this one to see how it pans out.
