The beta for Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is happening right now, and Starcraft creators, Blizzard, have released a preview of an upcoming leveling feature that will be implemented into the game.

A new progression system is being added which will allow players to gain that glorious XP, on a race-by-race basis, during matchmaking and custom game playtime. Special portraits and player profile decals will be unlocked via any XP earned. XP bonuses are also being planned for specific awards or XP Weekends etc.

The next beta patch will see the introduction of this new feature, and will become available in the full release.
