Coming with the Heart of the Swarm expansion for StarCraft 2, Blizzard will introduce a clan support system. Going live with the next major beta patch, you will be able to create a clan and choose a 2-4 character tag that will appear, as per standard, automatically in front of your clan member names.

Currently, the maximum amount of members per clan is 50 with Blizzard commenting that clans are geared towards the competitive side of SC2. Following the introduction of the clan system, Blizzard will start to work on a ‘Group’ system for those that want to enjoy the game casually and form communities with a larger member count.
