Hatred Becomes Steam’s First AO-rated Game

For those of you not familiar with 'MURICAN ESRB ratings, "AO" or "Adults Only" is our rating for games containing lots and lots of graphic violence or pornographic content. It's not used very often because usually even the most violent of games rarely get beyond a "Mature" rating and pretty much all games with pornographic content go without rating. Up until this point, Steam has had a weird rule of not allowing AO-rated games on their storefront, but games that have AO-worthy content were allowed within certain limits, provided they didn't get a rating. However, Hatred, having dodged the bullet of being pulled from Steam Greenlight by none other than Gabe Newell himself, is quickly becoming the little spree-killing simulator that could.

For a while, it was unclear whether or not Steam would follow through on carrying "Nottim Portant's Edgy Adventure", being that, while they had no real grounds to remove it from Steam Greenlight, after it was given AO, Steam was well in the right to tell "Tommy Wiseau is Fed Up With This World" that it they won't carry it. However, "Nathan Explosion's Day Out" can now be found on Steam clearly brandishing its AO rating, making it the first game on Steam to do so. Way to go Destructive Creations!
