Cool your heels, this isn't the next title in the series. This isn't even an official part of the series. Though the mod's creator, Adam Foster, was hired by Valve shortly after, and directly because of, Minerva back in 2007. Espoused by some as not only equal to, but in some ways surpassing the chapter (Half-Life 2 Episode 1, not the core game) it was built on. Including, it seems, the people at valve that he now works with. With their help and encouragement (read 'constant badgering') Minerva Metastasis: Director's Cut will be making its way to Steam as of April 30th.

Offering tweaked visuals (the Source engine has changed a lot more than people realise over the last eight years you know) "bug fixes, better puzzles and all kinds of subtle improvements. Nothing majorly new, just old stuff tidied and polished for this re-release" this is certain to be the definitive version. So for those still unfamiliar with this (at the time) fanmade unofficial expansion, this is the perfect time to see what all the fuss is about. Take it from me, you will not be disappointed.
