GTA V's Rerelease Has Surprising Bonuses

If I had to ask how many of you thought that the Grand Theft Auto series was missing a first-person perspective, my guess is that the results would be very few. However, series developer Rockstar has seen fit to add just that, in addition to quite an assortment of music tracks and new first-person animations. With a demo session of GTA V on PS4 by CVG, we now know a little bit more about how the game is going to play out, along with some bonus features for the PC version itself, most notably, the information that the game is going to run at a 4K resolution, if the user so desires.

The updated release also brings with it 20 new forms of wildlife (including cats), while still retaining the 30fps seen on last-gen consoles, which may well be a point of contention for some. The first-person integration also applies to GTA Online as well, bringing the option of forced perspective in races and deathmatches, with (purportedly) heists not far from the horizon. There are certainly other enhancements that previous players of the entry will notice, and while the PC release date is now set for January 27th of early next year, it's sure to be a release that many are waiting for, particularly after the abhorrent PC port that GTA IV received.

Yeah, it was some obnoxious number of animations they redid just for first-person view. I'm hoping that switching between the series-standard third and first person views is just with a press of a button, like the Halo remakes involving the remade engine was.

I never really had a problem with Social Club either, though yeah, GFWL was a bit rough.

The first person mode looks really good actually.

It's not confirmed and a Denuvo employee has made a statement saying that GTA V is not using their DRM. So far, Rockstar has not commented.

Social Club was ok. It never really interfeered with my time with GTA IV or Max Payne as far as I recall. Maybe a few times I couldn't connect. GFWL on the other hand...

Please burn in hell for all eternity.

Well GTA4 used Rockstar SOcial Club AND GFWL, so this is hardly any surprise. Rockstar do pretty much consider all PC gamers pirates and criminals after all.

Now they're saying that GTA V will use some third party DRM.

Just when I thought this was going to turn out good... hopefully it doesn't impede gameplay or performance.

Was anyone waiting for The Crew anyway?

Who the hell needs The Crew now that GTA 5 has a first person mode?

I don't doubt that the delays are to make a better port, particularly after so many people disliked GTA IV on PC. Still a bit odd that the next-gen console release is on the 18th (or so), and the PC release is two months later, but whatever, I suppose

At least we NOW know that we aren't getting totally screwed. I still stand behind what I said in the previous article. I'm sure most of the features are as a result of the delay. Not the other way around.

In the end, I can say that I am at least happy that the port looks to be good. That's all I could really ask for so thanks R*.
