GRID Autosport Shows Off New Footage
Longtime racing game developer Codemasters have released some new footage of their upcoming title GRID: Autosport, showcasing one of the five modes, and some pre-alpha gameplay footage elsewhere. The first video, linked above, has touring drivers talking about the intensity and willpower that their sport requires, in addition to the already tactical balance of positioning and aggressiveness that dominates the track. The game footage, linked below, is pretty standard pre-alpha footage; unfinished features and audio, but still showing off a solid amount of gameplay.
The previous two games in the series, which have been warmly received, sit squarely in the realm of arcade racers, while still aiming for some semblance of the simulation feel, this being accented by the reintroduction of the cockpit view from the first GRID title. Even with the game a hair over a month away, there still is no official car list, as it can be hard to nail down licenses, even as the disc is being pressed. With both GRID and Project Cars looking to strike a balance between simulator and arcade racer for the PC platform, those looking to collect and race virtual cars will find no shortage this year.
