Ghost Games is a Ghost Town
Well, if this was related to any other publisher than EA, I'd say it's a sad surprise to see yet another company just having released a decent game, facing severe layoffs. The company I speak of, is the UK office of Ghost Games, the creators of Need For Speed: Rivals. According to a report from Polygon, EA gave the affected people a choice to either take compensation and leave, or support Visceral on their upcoming game codenamed 'Havana' - which is rumored to be a Police themed Battlefield spin-off to be released later this year.
These news come only a month after veteran studio Criterion Games - who were originally supposed to be the main developer for the NFS franchise before it was given over to Ghost Games - saw some big names leave the company. It is also sadly not the only story of layoffs for EA-owned studios we've heard recently, as EA's Salt Lake studio also just reported of the same.
I can't imagine working as a developer for Electronic Arts is seen as stable work within the industry, it seems every other month we get a story like this.
