Get a First Look at the New SimCity
EA has recently put out a first look gameplay video of the upcoming SimCity, showing off laying the foundations of a town, building infrastructure and 90 degree angled train tracks.
Despite objecting severely to the price of this game (£45 for the Limited Edition, £65 for the Deluxe Edition), all the news I am hearing about SimCity's social features and this trailer itself, do nothing but excite me more. The game itself looks great, far more natural than its predecessors. The roads curve across the landscape and zoning matches the turn of the road, adjusting to fit in a seamless manner. It does however appear that laying pipes and power lines is no longer a possibility, as water and electric management has been streamlined so that they automatically flow along roads, once you have built a water tower or power plant that is.
Aside from that, nothing else looks to be taken away. In fact, I personally think it looks like the best SimCity game yet. From what I read about the online aspects, you can share a region with friends and connect you cities together, what your friend builds may have an effect on your entire region’s economy, allowing you to share power or, presumably, steal his tourists. Price aside, SimCity is shaping up to be a good evolution for the series!
