Gender's in Disguise
Once upon a time, there was a comic about giant robots that could turn into vehicles. Then, someone complained about all of them having a masculine gender identity (no seriously, that actually happened, I was there) and Arcee was born. Now, we have even more female Transformers in Transformers Universe. As her most recent predecessor, she also sides with the Decepticons (make of that what you will) and actually shares a lot in common, aesthetically speaking, with her Animated cousin. Though her vehicle form is an actual vehicle, a dune buggy, rather than a mahoosive spider. Due to her more demure physical stature, our lady Duststorm falls into a long ranged, sniping/support class. With high speed an manoeuvrability and some punishing long range skills.
Meanwhile, those bigots over on the supposedly libertarian Autobot side of the battle have themselves a powerhouse healer...which is a bit of an odd mix, but kinda' works. Bucking the usual trend of being either a frontline soldier or sitting in the background throwing buffs at people, Meltdown is right at home charging into the middle of everything, beating the living snot out of everything in sight, then helping his fallen bros get back into the thick of things for themselves.
If you'd like to try out either of these new additions to the battle, or any of the other combatants for that matter, you can head on over and sign up for the beta right now. And y'know, all things considered, even though the character design is far more in line with the Bayformers ideal, this is shaping up to a be a pretty darn good Transformers game.
My five year old self approves.
