Whilst true that free maps were cool in Bad Company 2, I think the approach here is akin to older titles in the series in that the new content offered is more like expansion packs to the game with additional weapons, vehicles, specs and game modes. The difference is that there's no new equipment added but hopefully the last two packs will include some new stuff. The Vietnam expansion to BC2 (which, for the record, was so fucking amazing) is like that. But I can agree with the pricing certainly although that's become nothing new these days. Still disgusts me though, though it's at least less bad here compared to other mainstream titles.

A problem made worse by the fact that Team Fortress 2 is free with frequent updates, it's so hard to love BF3 when Valve is so good to me xD.

I know it's a premium edition, my point was that EA can go fuck themselves in general in regards to their premium stuff. Bad Company 2 handled things a lot better IMO. True, extra content is always nice especially for multiplayer titles, but the cost is set too high for my blood.

To be honest, it doesn't particularly bother me as I intended to buy all the DLC sooner or later anyway and, this way, I'm saving money and getting some extra stuff, even if they're not particularly amazing. Plus, and obviously why Premium exists in the first place given their EA's "rivals", it's a better deal than paying a subscription for this sort of stuff ala Activision's Elite. Although whichever is the better deal doesn't really matter - they're both simply cheaper for the people who were going to buy all the DLC anyway so it's a better deal for both people. All the same, both companies represent pure greed so they can both fuck off for all I care.

Its premium edition of the game, not an "upgrade".
