From the Field to the Front, Punch It!
So it seems that the bad weather for EA's DICE is starting to clear, as Battlefield 4's future development for both DLC and updates shifts over to DICE's LA (Los Angeles) studio, allowing their main Stockholm studio to begin to place their focus squarely back on a very (in)famous Star Wars game series, according to an article by iDigitalTimes. After delaying development on Star Wars: Battlefront 3, or just Battlefront if you've seen last years E3 teaser, in order to fix the issues plaguing Battlefield 4 (needing the resources of both the LA and Stockholm studios). Star Wars Battlefront (3), is expected to be released sometime in 2015, alongside the coming movie trilogy helmed by J. J. Abrams, and we have been lead to believe that the game will not feature any content directly associated with those movies, which of course is fine by me.
What we do know is that the DICE will now be working hard to bring us a game that at one point was worked on by the fabled Free Radical Design, now Crytek UK, and the late LucasArts, all of which you'll already likely know by now, and if not, what rock have you been hiding under? They'll be giving it their own fresh spin, but leaving features that veteran Star Wars Battlefront players will find familiar, stating that this will not simply be Battlefield with Star Wars skins. Cool.
Since "Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen." For many Star Wars Battlefront fans, the previous delay in development was nothing new to begin with, having waited many years for a sequel that never quite happened (yet). But the future is bright, and the Force may finally be joining this one, it is just good to know that Battlefront in any form is in development. What do you think of all this? The Emperor commands you to speak...
