Four Seasons of Minecraft
The vanilla Minecraft has a lot of biomes with different terrain and weather. On the other hand, environment changes only when you move between locations, if you stay in the same place, your weather remains same. Extreme modability of the game allows many changes, so it shouldn't be that surprising that there is a mod that adds seasons to Minecraft.
Real Life Seasons mod is a purely visual mod, which doesn't change gameplay elements, only the texture packs. It is tied to your system time, so in-game seasons should correspond to the view outside your window, including some holydays. As mod is launcher-based there shouldn't be any compatibility problems and there is also a hilarious compatibility check (yep, it is just a short flashy video). The mod isn't new – it has been available since 2011, but a very beautiful trailer has appeared this month, which has attracted a lot of interest to the mod.
So if you want to experience the spring in Minecraft, go grab the mod from its official site, instructions for installing are inside mod files as well as in the informative installation tutorial video. Finally, the trailer owes its beauty to some other mods as well – Optifine for better performance and Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders, which adds beautiful lightning and foliage animation. Just don't grab the second one if your PC struggles with vanilla Minecraft.
