Flame and Frost

It seems that ArenaNet and NCsoft are keeping their promise to continuously add new content to Guild Wars 2. Just moments ago, I received an email that made me drop everything and rush to my desktop, loading up Guild Wars 2. Yes, their content update is out, and boy, is it a big one. The entirety of their patch notes can be read here, but the gist of it includes a couple of new adventure lines, a whole bunch of new items both in-game and in the gem shop, as well as an interesting paid tournament feature. Also, it is a part of the upcoming "Living Story" series, where the story would change depending on player actions and participation.

Also, a huge update made was the concept of guesting, where no more would one have to continuously fret over which world to join for the week (as GW2 only allows a world change once a week), in order to split between separate groups of GW2 playing friends. Instead, now one may log into other worlds as guests, with limitations of PVP and WvW, but otherwise able to quest.

Just to excite you, here is an excerpt of the text regarding the first instalment to the Living Story Series:

A mystery presents itself in this first entry in a multipart Living Story series. What could be causing such discord in the foothills of the Shiverpeaks? All those poor homesteaders and ranchers displaced with nowhere to go calls into question if the storms could be that bad—or if there's something more sinister stirring up the flame and frost. The ground is shaking, and the sky is falling in northern Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau. Norn and charr refugees, crawling from the wreckage of their homes, are fighting their way to shelter in Hoelbrak and the Black Citadel. Many are in shock and wounded; most have only what they can carry on their backs. A call has gone out for volunteers to assist them in their time of need, when the environment itself seems to have become their enemy.
