I have a confession to make. I still play games on consoles quite often - but for good reason: console exclusives. Final Fantasy has always been one of the main reasons why I haven't thrown my consoles away, with its madcap Japanese art-style, it's convoluted and oft-insane stories, and it's laughably weird clichés, it's been a series I just can't help but like. Which is why I'm so excited by the fact that Final Fantasy 14 is headed to both consoles and our much-beloved PCs.

If you haven't heard much about it, check out the video above. Yes, it is an MMORPG, but more importantly, it shows us what the new setting would be like. So far, it seems like they're going back to a medieval world, after their recent cyber-punk fantasy elements - with the obligatory crystals of power, chocobo-riders and ridiculous armoured knights. Character creation is something else I'm really excited about, allowing you to play a bevy of different races, and further change the look of your hero (which means for once you can play a hero that doesn't actually look like a runway model). As for the gameplay itself, it seems like the normal turn-based RPG fare that made Final Fantasy famous, but I won't be surprised if there's some new innovations along the way. So what do you think? More of the same? Will making it an MMO create a huge flop, or possibly an astounding success?
