Now, we don't usually do this, but the boxart for Fifa 16 is one that I just couldn't ignore. For the first time, setting a respectable precedent, EA have opted to have a female player feature prominently on the cover of a sports title. The best part about it is that it's been done right. With both a male and female athlete presented with equal prominence. This is a decision that was likely inspired in no small part due to the 5-2 win when America played Japan, with four of the game's total goals happening within the first fifteen minutes. It did a great job of showing people that female sports are a serious business, and it's great to see EA doing something the right way for once.

Rather than making this some huge, political statement and inevitably pissing off just about everyone in the universe. They simply listened to what their userbase was saying and opted for a solution that suits everyone's needs. As a side not, I love how both female footballers (they're different for the PlayStation 4 and Xbone versions) look like thy're thinking "get this doofus out of my way!"
