Far Cry 3 Sequel is Go
Fans of Far Cry 3 will be happy to know that Ubisoft has already greenlit Far Cry 4. Tony Key, Ubisoft Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, spoke to Gamespot and said that the next sequel is a go due to Far Cry 3's huge success.
"We're totally psyched from [Far Cry 3]. It's a great brand, and now it's got the recognition it deserves, so we're clearly going to make another one: more on that soon."
Key talked about how Ubisoft was investing its time in more games with open worlds. Watch Dogs and the Division are two new games that will have an open world element to them. However, while attending E3 this year I heard the words "open world" quite a lot. It seems that this genre just might be the replacement staple for FPS'. While there's nothing wrong with that, open world games tend to be fun, (I myself have poured many hours into Skyrim) it's how you go about it that could potentially be unsettling.
Developers nowadays are trying to push as much content into their titles and cater to a larger crowd. In doing so they can, and tend to, ruin the game for fans of the series. What developers don't realize is that you can not make the perfect game. You can not expect to pour oodles of money into a game and hope that it sells. Pandering to niche audiences is the best way to sell your product. Hopefully with Far Cry 4 Ubisoft sticks true to the core Far Cry audience.

I would frown if this was 2009, but after the awesome uplift that was 3, I'm on board for more.
