An upcoming standalone expansion for Ubisoft’s Might & Magic Heroes VI was announced today. Called Shades of Darkness, it is set 100 years after the events in the core game. It will have two storylines with the Dark Elves and the Necromancers of Heresh fighting against each other for the fate of Ashan.

Along with the announcement of the expansion, Ubisoft has premiered the Might & Magic web portal. It has a lot of information about the franchise’s mythology, an interactive historical timeline, and other information on other games in the series.

The expansion is scheduled for release on February 28, 2013. It will be available independently or as part of a Might & Magic Heroes VI Complete Edition. The Complete Edition will come with the core game and the expansion along with all bonus content, two DLC packs, and a full soundtrack of the game.
