Exclusive DirectX 11.1

Perhaps not very surprising news considering it comes from Microsoft. We have already had plenty of controversial news regarding Windows 8 and the choices they are making regarding the tablet orientated Operating System.
Microsoft has announced that the new DirectX 11.1, an updated version of DX 11, will not be added later to Windows 7 (or Vista). While the impact of this decision will be minor, I do know from market research that most consumers prefer not to feel “forced” into buying a product. Microsoft could have just said that they might or might not add it to DirectX 11.1 to avoid bad will or to give the sense they are trying to promote Windows 8 over Windows 7.
As stated by a Microsoft employee:
“DirectX 11.1 is part of Windows 8, just like DirectX 11 was part of Windows 7. DirectX 11 was made available for Vista but at this point there is no plan for DirectX 11.1 to be made available on Windows 7.”

@Stuntman, I don't see that happening at all. Besides Microsoft is part of BSA (which is the company that advises Ubisoft on piracy) and the BSA thinks that only 10 percent of PC gamers purchase legal games so... I wouldn't count on any Microsoft games on PC, least of all Halo 4 (BSA also says that pirated PC versions compete with console versions of the same game).
As for Windows 8, it's a no brainer skip for me. Windows 7 works great, Win 8 has no improvements over Win 7 in any way. I went from XP to Win 7 as that was a must, Win 7 runs much better than Win XP and not to mention I needed to, to be able to game properly. Win 8 seems like it will have more problems than Win 7 and won't bring any performance enhancements with it.

For me... no reason to, yet.

If they release Halo 4 with it I might consider it.
