Evolve Coming to Modern Systems Without Mods, For Now

Turtle Rock Studios, perhaps best known for developing Left 4 Dead in conjunction with Valve, are hard at work on their own cooperative/competitive 4-man monster killing FPS. However, with difficulties arising from developing their first game on their own for modern consoles and PCs, in an interview with RPS, co-founder Phil Robb said that while mod tools are certainly a possibility, such tools aren't actively being developed right now.

"We're not against it," he told RPS. "I'm a big fan of that kind of stuff. I mean, if it ends up coming to be, then that's awesome. But we're still very much in development. I don't think we have anything concrete yet."

With Evolve being released on October 21st globally for the PC, Xbox One and PS4, and some rather interesting footage showing off the intensely personal and strategic nature of the fights, it would seem as though Turtle Rock has enough on their hands to already make an excellent game, even if mod support isn't available initially.
