EverCraft Next Landmine

By KamikazeGoomba29-11-2013

You could be forgiven for thinking that Everquest Next Landmark has been taking a few pages from Minecraft's book, but it's starting to feel like they're taking the whole book at this point. That's not completely fair when it's clear that Everquest is going for more of a development tool for houses, but come on Obsidian? Cobblestone? You were just painting a large red target on your back when you did that.

But like I said, Everquest Next Landmark appears to be attempting a house development and I meant it. The trailers depict not just the constructed buildings, but the level of depth in detailing and texturing the walls. It all looks like a game developer is just creating the objects for game, and not just assembling a few blocks into a tower. As a recovering Minecraft junkie myself, Everquest Next Landmark appears to be a lot of fun, with a much larger number of available options to build with. The only actual issue I can really think of is the learning curve to reach such a level construction. It will probably take a lot longer to get into this compared to Minecraft, but enough about that. EverCraft really does feel like it's just trying to expand on the construction genre with a deeper experience for players.
