EVE Player Steals 440 Billion ISK
The CEO of Space Monkey, a Corporation within the MMO game EVE Online has run off with 440 Billion in stolen assets from the Corp. While such thefts are common place within EVE Online, this could well be one of, if not, the largest such theft to take place within the MMO. For those who are not accustomed to EVE Online, a Corporation is to EVE Online what Guilds are to World of Warcraft. But due to the economical focus of EVE Online, the CEO of such a Corporation has control over Billions worth in assets and ISK in the Corporation bank and the Corporation's manufacturing plants and such.
The CEO EX Loft, otherwise known as Alisonia, wrote an open letter to his Corporation before leaving it with the last of the stolen assets. In this letter he explains that he will be quitting EVE Online and wanted to end with a bang, essentially meaning that all these stolen assets will sit in an inactive account.
Alisonia stated in his letter "after about a year and a half this idea came to me to steal as much in assets as I could. At first I only stole small amounts of assets to test the waters. Eventually leading to stealing Tech, capital ships and more. If I had to guess 200Bish since I started. I want to go through my logs and figure it maybe more. I mean why steal it in a bulk (one-time) when you can milk the cow."
While the in-game currency value of ISK lost for Space Monkey Corporation will be felt, perhaps the biggest pain to the Corporation is to have had their trust misused and abused by someone who they thought was their friend. This also is perhaps not the best thing either for EVE Online's reputation as who wants to play a game where such things not only happen, but are promoted by the developers?

WOW PARAGRAPHS!!! NICE
Anyway, this kind of thing is not unusual in EVE and last time it happened the developers used it to PROMOTE the freedom the game gives to its players! LOL

Great story. I am sure he was inspired by that trailer.
I know people might hate it in game (especially those who were in the corp) but this is so unique.
