Epic Games President Steps Down

Mike Capps has recently published a blog post stating his decision to step down as the President of Epic Games, delegating his duties to Vice President of Operations, John Farnsworth and Vice President of Development, Paul Meegan. The reason for this decision is stated below, in a quote from his post.

"If you haven’t heard, I have a baby boy on the way. I’m fortunate that with Epic’s success and generosity, I can be a stay at home dad for a while. My wife Julianne and I are very happy in Raleigh, and other than cleaning up baby barf, I don’t have much planned. I might do some teaching, spend more time on creative writing, and maybe get more active with a few charities."

However, he has also stated that after a decade of dedication to the company, it is "impossible to simply walk away". Thus, he will stay on as an advisor and as a member of the Board of Directors. Under his leadership, great games such as the Gears of War series and Unreal Tournament 2004, and Unreal Tournament 3 have been released, and there is no doubt Epic has thrived during his time as President. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours as well as his impending fatherhood, and may he find similar success outside of the videogames industry.

How many people has Epic lost in the last 6 months? Is there something going on?
