EA Wants You Not to Hate Them

So it turns out that EA really didn't like winning The Consumerist's Worst Company in America Award two years in a row. They've previously made some comments addressing a few of the 'issues' that they thought were leading people to select them as the absolute worst company in America, but now EA Studio's Executive Vice President Patrick Söderlund has opened up about his reactions to receiving the award to MCV UK, saying:

"I don't believe for a second that we are the worst company in America, but I do believe when something like that happens, you have to sit down and ask yourselves 'Why are people saying these things?' We did that and we started to realise that we are doing things that people don't like"

First to go was the online pass, with Söderlund saying :

'People were telling us they didn't like [online passes]. So we weighed up the pros and cons and went 'Ok. We will remove it.' These decisions need to be driven by what consumers want and tell us, and that is where we may have faltered a bit in the past.' He then went on to say 'If we continue to do those types of things, then we will earn people's trust and respect. We don't want to be bad, we have no desire to be voted the worst company in America. On the contrary we want to be voted the best.'

I can think of a few more things that EA can do before they can pull this off. Origin, for instance, is less user friendly than Blizzard's currently in beta Battle.net app, and I still loathe tacked on multiplayer taking from the budgets of my beloved singleplayer campaigns. What suggestions do you have for the publishing giant?

Lol, I think they are still a long way off before they avoid winning it a third time in a row... perhaps less rushed games, more fair prices. Better promotions and better post-launch support.

They are going for a 3 "win" streak.
