EA Doesn’t Want to Win Again

"We started thinking about how we don't want to be viewed as the worst company in America. I personally don't think we've ever been the worst company in America, but it says something. The consumers out there are telling us something. And we actually took it very seriously. This was before Andrew was the CEO. We and [EA chief operating officer] Peter Moore and a couple of other guys in the executive company got together to try to understand what caused people to say these things. And there were some things out there that...consumers told us they didn't like. online pass was one thing."

Yup, all is well, EA. You listened to your customers when they told you they didn't like your horrible online passes. That makes up for EVERYTHING. Since I like to take any excuse I can for a little good-natured EA bashing, lets take this opportunity to look at some of the things EA has done:

-Marketing Dead Space 2 (An M rated game) to children with their "Your mother won't like this" ad Campaign

-Dumbing down SimCity and giving it horrible always online DRM

-Spore. Just everything about Spore

-Taking Overstrike, a cartoony, lighthearted CO-OP shooter and playtesting it with children and when it got negative feedback for being "too cartoony", they turned it into the brown and bloom grimdark "Fuse" it is today

-Everything related to TOR (Using an unfinished version of the hero engine, banning anyone who criticized it from their forums, removing the unsubscribe button and banned anyone who shared the link to unsubscribe, etc.)

-Buying out and closing down many, MANY developers

But you know, who knows? Maybe they will change. Maybe they will leave their horrible business practices with John Ricearoni's resignation. Maybe they won't win the Three-Poot. Maybe tomorrow I'll wake up with a million dollars in my bank account. Anything is possible. In the meantime let's all rise for EA's Corporate Anthem.

I think they will get a lot of good will from TitaFall (except exclusive for life crap) and it seems that BF4 might have a better reception than Ghosts but I cant see them stopping doing all the crappy things that became a standard for them...
