If you ever become a scientist you should do two things as soon as you can. First, arm everyone around you with a crowbar, and second, under no circumstances should you create a portal to hell. It's just a bad idea.

While it may be a terrible idea to create a hell-portal, It does make for a good DOOM game where flesh and metal are "merged in an unholy union" to create the very shootable, very cool, very deadly, Demons. Id Software seems to be saving all the juicy details for Quakecon this year, but they're teasing it pretty hard already.
