E3: Let's Talk Isolation
Many multiplatform games were shown and discussed in quite a decent amount of detail during the various live shows of this year's E3. One of them is Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation. Though the UK developer is more famous for making unfinished strategy games, they apparently now feel like it's time to take a step to the side and try something fresh. With Alien: Isolation, CA are looking away from the typical shootfest that video game adaptations of the Alien universe seem to love going for, and are instead clearly inspired by atmospheric horror games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Though, the gameplay we've seen so far shows multiple examples of weapons being used to defend yourself against your foes.
In the interview you see embedded above, creative lead Al Hope has no problem sharing just how amazing of a game he thinks Alien: Isolation is. Apparently, due to some seriously robust AI systems, where no two playthroughs will be the same and every player will have a unique experience. He even brags about how even after playing the game all day every day for three years, the developers still have their hearts thumping because they "never know what's gonna happen". Sounds pretty good! Almost too good to be true. Something similar was said about Rome 2's AI before launch, and we all know how that turned out!
We'll know for sure whether Creative Assembly speak the truth or if it's their usual "coloring of the facts" come October 7th.
