Good news my fellow belt, zippers, and cat girl loving aficionados, patch 2.55 for FF14 is in action! This patch doesn't contain small level tweaks either, it's a loooong list of tweaks, features, and content changes. This is Enix after all.

"Patch 2.55 brings the main scenario of A Realm Reborn to a close in a dramatic finale, and asks adventurers to stand in defense of Ishgard along the Steps of Faith!" It's important to note here that the Steps of Faith is an instance that requires eight players, a level 50 magic or disciple of war level, an item level of 90, and the courage to face off against one of the coolest looking dragons in any MMO to date. In addition to the Steps of Faith, there are brand new quests for both the main story line and side stories that the notes go into great detail about.

Another welcomed change comes with the Final Coil of Bahamut and the World of Darkness. Thanks to the overlords over at Enix, they're easier to get into thanks to the abolishment of weekly limitations and the ability to enter via the Duty Finder when you have a full party with you.

As far as tweaks go, the Golden Sauce is full of them already, mainly in the Chocobo Racing and Triple Triad games. NPC decks and the ways to challenge opponents have changed, but even the smaller level things like the amount of points you need to win, the number of matches, the ways to get achievements, and how to get a platinum card have been "adjusted."

As for our feathered friends and their mini-game, Chocobo Racing has been changed to be more competitive with the winners getting more MGP and losers getting less than ever. Not only that, but treasure coffers have their fair share of changes as well both in their size, frequency, and effects. Graviball and items have become more deadly, but hey, at least the effects of foul weather have been reduced.
