Do You Know Where Sailors Hang Out?
It may surprise you to learn, fellow members of the PC gaming Masterrace, but there are other methods of playing video games. That have games that don't grace our fair platform. One of the most tragic examples of this is Shenmue. A SEGA first party title on the Dreamcast. It almost, once upon a time, had an MMO, that was actually playable for a while in Korea. And the second was re-released on the Xbox. But the first game stayed a Dreamcast exclusive. Something which, maybe, is very soon to change...sort of.
See, there's a reason the MMO was playtested in Korea. Those guys went absolutely mental for Shenmue. As evidenced by this chap here, who has taken it upon himself to recreate the entire thing in HD. Now, his manifesto is in Korean, which I am not exactly a master of, so I'm relying on Google translate so...yeah. But it seems this started as a minor thing, which was intended only to recreate the first game's arcade, in higher detail, with more SEGA arcade games included. But from there, it's gone on to be a, hopefully, full blown recreation of the game...on the PC.
Fingers crossed. If you have not played Shenmue yet, dear Gods why not?!

SEGA made a lot of dumb mistakes in the previous decade, no doubt about that. I'm just hoping, against all hope, that the increasing trickle of Dreamcast titles that are making their way to Steam are some kind of foreshadowing of a complete remake.
Please, please let it be true

Was a sad thing what happened to shenmue the game would have to sell an impossible amount to make a profit on a doomed console, then they are dumb enough to release shenmue 2 by itself on the xbox instead of having both games on the PS2. Gotta wonder if they had monkeys running things back then.
